Open Road Cafe

It was so cool! Last minute arrival around 6am, I was welcomed despite the inconvenience caused by my lateness with a big smile! Everyone is very accommodating, the food is super good, the desert tour offered is awesome with incredible people, an experience like no other so to speak :) I was even able to stay in the hostel the last day to work after my check-out! Thanks again ! Alta ;)

We were hesitant at first to book but we were very much satisfied with the non-touristic desert camp we experienced through them. The whole open road family were very welcoming and made sure we get the best out of this experience. The person whom they send us with to the desert was very knowledgeable and took care of us in an extraordinary manner. The dune was untouched and fully remote. Worth every penny we spent.

This was the best decision during our whole trip. Vivian, Aparna along with their daughter and Rajiv as well are such great hosts. They are incredibly welcoming. The place is really good as well and the rooftop cafe has a lot of character in it with so many things like the pool table, the outside area, the reading section, overall it was very boogie and cozy. Earlier we thought about going to sam sand dunes as those are the ones which are all over the internet. But luckily, whole going through reddit we found about open road hotel and the desert safari that they provide. The safari was just amazing. The dunes were completely untouched and clean, which normally you do not find at any tourist places. The night we spent under the stars was just amazing. Overall, Vivian and Aparna's hospitality blew us away. It was the first time for us staying at such place and it was all worth it. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting jaisalmer.

We tried a few other places to eat around Jaisalmer, but honestly, we kept coming back to their cafe and for good reason. The food here just felt right — simple, fresh, and made with care. It’s not fancy, but it’s full of flavour and feels like a warm, home-cooked meal.

Open road hostel is an excellent choice when in Jaisalmer. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, and they ensured excellent hospitality throughout my stay here. They also arranged an overnight desert safari which was the highlight of the trip. It is also at walkable distance to Jaisalmer fort and other attractions. Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Jaisalmer

I recently had unique 2-day desert camping trip (Non Touristic ) organized by Open Road Hostel & Café, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. From the moment we set out, the team made sure everything was well-organized. The camping in the desert was authentic ( Need Raw camping mind ) simple arrangements that gave a true taste of desert life. Nights under the stars were magical, and waking up to the golden sunrise over the dunes felt surreal. What made the trip even more special was the interactions. I had the chance to connect with fellow travelers from different places, which brought a sense of community and shared adventure. We exchanged stories around . Equally memorable was meeting the local village people who hosted us with warmth and generosity. Their hospitality, traditional food, and cultural insights gave me a unique experience of the desert lifestyle. It felt genuine and heartwarming to share moments with them. This wasn’t just a camping trip — it was a blend of adventure, culture, and human connection. Open Road Hostel & Café deserves full credit for curating such a meaningful and immersive desert experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to go beyond typical tourism and truly connect with the desert and its people.

Good food ; good vibes ; great people. Me and my partner found them via a detailed review on Reddit. This review is for the whole experience - staying in the fort + desert camping. The entire experience was fabulous, the stay in the bustling is a unique experience and must do. Desert camping is something both me and my partner will come back for - it was completely out of the world and so so beautifully planned. Special mention to the folks who come with us to the desert, they are amazing souls who would go to any measure to make is comfortable. To be honest the above review doesn’t do any justice to the experience we had ; both of us really hope that our stars align and we get to go again. This place is a perfect example of how a combination of excellent service and high-quality food creates a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend this cafe for a morning pick-me-up, a casual lunch, or a relaxing afternoon. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
